Our 2.25" Red Oak floors are available in 4 different thicknesses, including:

Grades and cuts offered are:

  • Select & Better - very clean with no considerable frequency of knots, mineral, etc...
  • #1 Common - occasional small knots that require little or no filler, some mineral and darker areas/boards
  • #2 Common - characterized by sharp contrasting color variation caused by heartwood / sapwood contrast, frequent knots, including knots that require filler, more short boards and less longer boards
  • Character Grade - a unique blend of #1 & #2 Common grade material that provides a casual floor, generally with longer boards and a simpler installation - expect some small knots and natural variations in color and grain throughout
  • Rift & Quarter Sawn - a unique sawing method that displays the edges of the tree's growth rings on the face of the boards
  • Rift Only - this flooring has been sorted to include only the boards with at least 75% of each board displaying "Rift" characteristics (vertical grain pattern)
  • Quartered Only - this is sorted to include only highly figured boards displaying the "flecking" pattern that quartersawn oak flooring is known for
